Abingdon Autotest
The Tiger autotest was held on Thursday July 27th on the old airfield near Abingdon. A fair number of cars turned up, including the new R6 with Jim and Simon Ranson. We took over one end of the main runway, and a series of courses were laid out in cones for us to drive around (and sometimes through, whoops.....)
The main event there was a Which Kit track day, organised by Vision Motorsport. This involved a circuit laid out with cones on the runways and support roads around the airfield. There were a variety of corners, from fast sweeping bends to chicanes and a hairpin. Neil Wain was kind enough to allow me the use of his Six for the autotest while he wasn't giving it some around the circuit. Through some freak of nature, I ended up coming third despite not having ever driven any kind of seven-inspired car, let alone a Six before. I had enormous fun doing it, and it helped convince me that this whole car building thing was all going to be worth it in the end!
A few pictures from the autotest are below, click on the thumbnails for larger versions. If anyone else has got any decent ones, I'd be grateful if you'd send me them!
